The street will feature around 50 mobile stalls selling souvenirs, food and drinks.

Vu Khac Tuan from Bach Dang Ward said it was a good idea as it would help diversify the city’s tourism products and generate jobs for local people.

Local households are not allowed to drive their cars into the street during the hours of the street’s operation and instead have to use two nearby car parks.

The street will be one among eight tourism products scheduled to be introduced in Ha Long this year.

Quang Ninh has targeted 15 million tourist visits this year. In the first five months of this year, the province served 7.1 million visitors, up 1.7 times on-year. The provincial tourism sector’s total tourism revenues were estimated at VND13.14 trillion, up almost double on-year.
