VietNamNet Bridge – Mr. Dang Quoc Khanh, 40, has been elected as Chair of Ha Tinh Provincial People’s Council, becoming the youngest provincial chair in the country.

Khanh was elected to the chairmanship at an extraordinary meeting of the Ha Tinh Provincial People's Council on Apirl 21. Khanh  was previously Vice Chair of Ha Tinh province, an alternate member of the Party Central Committee.

At the meeting the council dismissed the former Chairman Le Dinh Son, and then elected him as the Chair of the Provincial People’s Council. Son is also the Party Secretary of Ha Tinh.

The Council also elected three Vice Chairs of the Ha Tinh Provincial People’s Council – Mr. Dang Quoc Vinh (former Head of the Ha Tinh PR and Education Committee), Mr. Dang Ngoc Son (former Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development), and Duong Tat Thang (former Director General of Ha Tinh Minerals and Trade Corporation).

Khanh was born on Septeber 2 1976, a native of Tien Dien Commune, Nghi Xuan  District, Ha Tinh. He holds a doctoral degree of urban and public work management.

Khanh previously served as deputy director, director of the Construction Department, chair of Union of Science and Technology Associations of Ha Tinh, Party Secretary of Nghi Xuan District, Vice Chair of Ha Tinh People’s Committee.

At the 12th National Party Congress, Khanh was elected as an alternate member of the Party Central Committee.

In early April2016, Khanh was elected Deputy Party Secretary of Ha Tinh from 2015 to 2020.

Khanh is the youngest provincial chair in Vietnam. He is the son of Dang Duy Bau, former Party Secretary, Chair of Ha Tinh Provincial People’s Council in 1996-2005.
