VietNamNet Bridge - Four bombs with a total weight of about a ton were found at the bottom of the pond of a farmer family in Kien Thuy District in the northern port city of Hai Phong on Sunday.

On Monday (May 9), Colonel Dang Ba Nhinh - the chief of the military command of Kien Thuy District - said an engineer company of the Hai Phong Military Command in coordination with other forces had already removed the four bombs to a safe place.

Earlier, on May 8, Mr. Nguyen Van Chieu in Uc Gian village in Thuan Thien commune of Kien Thuy District found the bombs while dredging mud from his pond.

Being informed of the bombs, the local authorities immediately sent guards to the site to protect the bombs and reported the case to the Military Command of Hai Phong City.

According to Colonel Nhinh, each bomb has a length of 1.2 m and a diameter of 35-40 cm, weighing 250 kg each.
