Speaking to the Daily, Vo Thi Trung Trinh, deputy director of the HCMC Department of Information and Communications, said 716 out of more than 2,000 public services in the city have gone online. Particularly, the city is offering 604 online public services at level 3 and 112 services at level 4.

Level-3 online public services allow people to fill in forms and send them online while level-4 services accept online payments and allow people to send files and receive results online or by post.

Online public services at level 4 are mainly used by businesses because they require users to have digital signatures.

According to Trinh, the city is striving to bring all public services online at level 3 and 4 by 2020. It will prioritize the sectors that require citizens and organizations to undertake multiple procedures.

An online payment gateway has begun trial operation at the city’s Departments of Health and Planning-Investment.

It will be officially put into service in the second quarter of 2018, said the Department of Information and Communications. At the same time, all 24 districts in the city will offer online service for land-related procedures.

Enabling people to submit documents on the Internet, online public services help individuals and organizations save time and money.
