The number of new dengue fever cases in Hanoi has dropped in the last few weeks, according to the city’s Department of Health on September 25.

Hanoi recorded 1,604 dengue fever cases from September 18 to 24, a decrease of 352 compared to the previous week and down 1,965 compared to the peak in August.
Since the start of the year, the city has recorded 30,344 dengue cases, with seven deaths. About 4,060 outbreaks have been under control and 384 remain.
Meanwhile, there were 116 cases of hand-foot-mouth reported during the week, raising the number to 327, down 76 percent year-on-year.
The city also recorded two new cases of people infected with streptococcus suis bacteria that affected pigs in Quoc Oai and Hoang Mai districts, adding up to 14 cases since 2017, with three fatalities.
