The smart city project will be started in October this year

The project was among those which were recently granted investment licenses by municipal authorities.

The smart city project to be designed by Japan’s Nikken Sekkei Company will be jointly invested by Vietnam’s BRG Group and Japan’s Sumitomo Corporation Group. It will cover around 310 hectares at Hai Boi Commune.

The project implementation will be divided into five phases. In the first phase, the investor would invest more than USD1 billion to develop infrastructure for the project.

One of Hanoi’s Metro Line 2 stations will be located in the development. The project is expected to provide around 7,000 apartments for medium income earners.

Chairwoman of BRG Group Nguyen Thi Nga said that legal procedures and finance have been ready for the project implementation. Local residents also supported the project.

The first phase of the project is slated for completion in 2020 and the entire project is expected to be finished in 2028, Nga noted.

The city will use solar energy and is connected to Hanoi’s city centre as well as other localities by a modern transport network.
