The capital city has unveiled detailed plans for the grand military and civilian parade on September 2, marking the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and Vietnam’s National Day.

The event will begin at 6:30 a.m. at Ba Dinh Square, where senior leaders, officials, and invited guests will gather. After passing the grandstand, parade contingents will split into seven different routes through Hanoi’s central streets. Around 30,000 participants  -  not including parade formations  -  are expected to join the celebrations.

Viewing & Access: While the square will be reserved for invited guests, residents can watch along the parade routes or via 270 large LED screens installed across the city. Authorities have urged the public to follow security guidelines and instructions from event staff.

Evening Celebrations

Hanoi will host fireworks at five locations on the evening of September 2: Hoan Kiem Lake, Thong Nhat Park, Van Quan Lake, My Dinh National Stadium, and West Lake.

This year’s celebration will also feature aerial flyovers, naval displays, and cultural performances, with participation from military units of Laos and Cambodia.
