Hanoi Art Connecting 2023, an international exhibition and workshop, opened on October 19 with the participation of 156 artists from 27 countries and territories.
This year’s event, the sixth of its kind, brings together famous names such as Le Huy Tiep, Phan Cam Thuong, Vu Dinh Tuan, Cong Kim Hoa, Trinh Minh Tien (Vietnam), Kamol Tassananchalee (Thailand), Fil Dela Cruz (the Philippines), Edi Sunaryo (Indonesia), Carolyn Muskat, Don McKinney (USA) and many artists who are professors and lecturers at famous art universities in the world.
Visitors will have the chance to gain a greater understanding about a variety of different kinds of art and get a firsthand look at how artists produce their works through workshops on painting, graphics, sculpture, and pottery.
The event has been held annually by Asia Art Link (AAL) and the Hanoi Industrial Fine Arts University since 2016 with a view to connecting both Vietnamese and international artists.
It has grown rapidly over recent years, featuring an increasing number of artists and countries participating. Indeed, there were only five countries and 20 international artists joining activities in 2016.
Founder of Asia Art Link - artist Trinh Tuan said that the artists participating in the 6th Hanoi Art Connecting are very excited, eager to work, create and share joys and sorrows with each other. Above all, they want to bring their art to the public.
The workshop is open for free until October 24, 2023 at the Hanoi University of Architecture.
