Authorities in Hanoi’s outlying district of Ba Vi have requested a local family to dismantle a so-called palace illegally built on forest land.
The “princess palace”
The “princess palace” is located at Yen Bai Commune is being built by Le Viet Long’s family.
According to Nguyen Xuan Chien, chairman of Yen Bai Commune’s People Committee, the area where the palace is situated belongs to Viet Mong Farm. The family built the work without permission from local authorities.
The violation has been detected since October last year. Despite being reminded many times and even fined VND2 million (USD90.9), the family has continued the construction.
The authorities have urged Long’s family to dismantle the work in some days to come or they will have drastic measures to deal with this, Chien noted.
The palace covers around 100 square metres
The palace covers around 100 square metres and has two floors. The first is designed to look like a store, while, the second floor is divided into three compartments with many pillars. The walls are decorated with laterites.
The pillars are carved and the yard has bonsai trees.
