The Hanoi Department of Transport began to launch a level-four online public service for issuing international driving licences for Vietnamese citizens and foreigners who are permanently residing in Vietnam from January 2, 2018.

The department also carried out the re-issuance of international driving licences online.

Applicants who possess valid driving permits issued in Vietnam in polyethylene terephthalate (PET) material can visit the website http://sogtvt.hanoi.gov.vn to register for an online driving licence.

The online public service allows applicants to send an application to acquire a driving license and choose to receive their driving licences at home as well as make online payments through the Vietnam Bank for Industry and Trade (Vietinbank).

The Hanoi Department of Transport has coordinated with the General Department of Vietnam Road, Vietinbank and the Hanoi Post to carry out online payments and delivery of international driving licences.

After successful registration and payment, driver's license will be delivered to the address of the applicants.
