Buses using compressed natural gas or CNG are deemed more eco-friendly than normal buses, however Hanoi’s plan to introduce a new fleet of buses has been hindered by multiple obstacles. Financial support and attention from agencies are required to bring this plan to life.

A fleet of 50 new buses run entirely on CNG have been operational since the start of August.

According to the firm, CNG buses can save up to 30% of fuel costs since CNG is cheaper and easier to produce than petrol and diesel. Moreover, they are eco-friendly and pose less adverse impacts on human health.

Experts said that the progress of bringing more CNG buses into operation would be seriously hindered if we don’t find more efficient ways to transport natural gas to the filling station.-VNA
