Hanoi FC celebrate winning against Tampines Rovers of Singapore 4-0 in the third match of Group G of the AFC Cup on Wednesday.

Taking full advantage of playing on home turf, Hanoi dominated the match from the time the referee blew his whistle announcing the start.

The hosts needed just 16 minutes to get off the mark after Loris Arnaud’s shot was deflected past Tampines’ keeper Izwan Mahbud.

Nguyen Van Quyet then doubled the advantage with a header on the 65 minute before Do Hung Dung fired home from Gonzalo Marronkle’s pass with a minute remaining.

There was still time for Argentine Marronkle to get on the scoresheet himself as he converted a penalty in added time as Tampines suffered the second consecutive heavy defeat following their 5-0 loss to Ceres Negros.

It is the first victory for Hanoi in the 2017 AFC Cup campaign. Earlier, they had two draws.

At present, Hanoi have five points to temporarily rank second in the group, behind Ceres-La Salle FC of the Philippines who have the same point of five.

In the next fixture on April 4, Felda United FC will meet Ceres-La Salle FC on their home turf, while Tampines Rovers will face Hanoi on their home turf.

Hanoi had tied 1-1 with Tampines in an AFC Cup fixture in 2011.
