V.League 1 side Hanoi FC have said goodbye to captain Gonzalo Damian Marronkle after eight years of working together.

The 33-year-old Argentinean Marronkle has failed to recover from injuries which he sustained at the start of the season.
Marronkle has played for Hanoi since 2009, and was handed the captain’s armband in 2014.
During his time in Hanoi, Marronkle played 137 matches and scored 81 goals. He helped the team win the national premier league in 2010, 2013 and 2016.
Marronkle was also named best scorer in 2013 with 14 goals.
Marronkle said after leaving Hanoi FC, he and his wife will stay in Viet Nam as they now consider the country their home.
Hanoi have the chance to defend their title as they are top of the rankings with 42 points. — VNS
