According to Trinh Quoc Vu, Director of the Department of Science, Technology and Energy Efficiency under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the events aim to deliver the message: Let’s protect the environment and use energy effectively towards the sustainable development of the country.
Earth Hour is the largest social event in the world, which has been observed in 7,000 cities of 172 countries and territories.
Responding to the event in 2018, which is themed “Go More Green”, Hanoi, Da Nang city, Ho Chi Minh City and other 60 cities and provinces across the country will turn off the lights from 20:30-21:30 on March 24.
The event is held by the Ministry of Industry and Trade with support from the Electricity of Vietnam (EVN), Hanoi Beer, Alcohol and Beverage Joint Stock Company and Daikin Air Conditioning Vietnam Joint Stock Company.-VNA
