A perfect SAT score is widely regarded as a rare accomplishment globally. Yet this academic year alone, the school has seen seven students reach that benchmark.
The students include Hoang Huong Giang (Math 1 class), Ho Huu Dai (Math 2 class), Do Gia Bao and Le Tuan Phong (both from IT class), Phan Chau An (Physics class), Pham Ky Anh (English 2 class), and Dang Cong Minh Nghia (class 12A5).
All seven achieved full marks - 800 out of 800 - in both the Evidence-Based Reading and Writing section and the Math section. Beyond their SAT results, they have also demonstrated consistently strong academic performance.
Notably, Ho Huu Dai earned an IELTS score of 8.0 and secured admission to the Data Science program at Aalto University in Finland with a full scholarship.
Hoang Huong Giang received a 100 percent tuition scholarship to KAIST in South Korea.
Phan Chau An gained admission offers from multiple institutions, including Franklin & Marshall College with a scholarship worth VND6.8 billion (US$275,000), Denison University with a VND6.7 billion scholarship (US$270,000), and a full scholarship to Soka University of America.
Dang Cong Minh Nghia, with an IELTS score of 7.5, also received a full scholarship in Quantum Technology at Aalto University.
In addition to the perfect scorers, the school has many students achieving near-perfect SAT scores, such as 1590 and 1570. Nearly 100 students have also reached IELTS scores of 8.0 or higher.
Other notable achievements include Nguyen Minh Nhat Van (class 12A1), who secured a full scholarship to the University of Chicago worth VND11 billion (US$445,000), and Chu Quang Huy (Physics class), who gained admission with a scholarship to Stanford University.
Speaking to VietNamNet, principal Vu Van Tien expressed pride in his students’ achievements.
“When we continuously received news of students achieving perfect SAT scores, it was an overwhelming moment of pride for all teachers. In the past, we might have had only one or two such cases, but in recent years the number has steadily increased. This reflects both the students’ capabilities and the school’s improving quality of education,” he said.
According to Tien, the results stem from multiple factors, including the school’s long-standing tradition of rigorous student selection and high-quality teaching.
“Over the years, our academic reputation has helped attract increasingly talented students,” he noted.
He also emphasized the importance of structured training plans, a strong educational environment, and exposure to international-level competitions.
The number of students achieving high SAT scores may continue to rise, as another testing session is scheduled for May.
“This academic year, alongside strong performances in national academic competitions, we are delighted to see such outstanding SAT results. We hope our students will continue to achieve success in international Olympiads and university admissions in the future,” Tien added.
