A campaign titled “Civilized public passenger transport - serving passengers” has been launched in an effort to improve service quality, build a culture of public transport and encourage Hanoi residents to use buses and metro lines.

On the morning of March 14, the Hanoi Traffic Management and Operation Center coordinated with bus and metro operators across the city to launch the initiative.
Speaking at the event, Thai Ho Phuong, Director of the Hanoi Traffic Management and Operation Center, said that safety and civility in the operation of metro trains and buses are crucial factors determining the sustainable development of public passenger transport.
The Hanoi Traffic Management and Operation Center and relevant units committed to improving the quality of public passenger transport services.
According to Phuong, service quality on buses and metro lines has improved significantly in recent years but still falls short of expectations.
He noted that enhancing service standards is a shared responsibility between state management agencies and the companies providing transport services. The center plans to incorporate service quality evaluation criteria into bidding documents for transport services, thereby working with businesses to raise standards and foster a more civilized service environment on public transport.
The city will accompany service providers in building a culture on public transport in order to attract residents to use it, with the goal of creating a modern and civilized transport system in the capital.
At the ceremony, Nguyen Thi Anh, a service staff member on bus route E10, said that each bus trip is not simply a journey from one place to another but also a meeting point between passengers and those working in the public transport sector.
When every driver and service staff member maintains dedication in their daily work, buses will become trusted companions for residents of the capital and for people across the country.
Transport enterprises also affirmed that they will continue working with the city’s transport sector to improve the quality of public passenger transport services, with the goal of ensuring safety, convenience and increasingly friendly and civilized travel experiences for passengers.
