VietNamNet Bridge – Directors of state departments, chairs of districts, towns and communes in Hanoi will receive smart devices to work online.
In July 2012, the Hanoi People's Council provided deputies with free tablets to serve their work.
At a meeting on September 6, Hanoi Mayor Nguyen Duc Chung told the Department of Information and Communications to implement a pilot project under which officials at certain levels will be provided with tablets and smartphones to work online.
The agency was also assigned to speed up IT training for officials and public servants in the city.
Chung said after the pilot period, the city will begin implementing the online working project on January 1 2017.
