A police makes report on a driver violating traffic regulations. The Hanoi Police proposed that automobile drivers must set up bank accounts so that police can deduct fine for their violations.

This was proposed by Colonel Dao Thanh Hai, deputy director of the Hanoi Police.

The proposal was given during a conference of the Hanoi Police to discuss setting up a plan for ensuring traffic safety this year, which was held at the end of last week.

Colonel Hai added that since the city police supervised traffic safety via cameras, the traffic police’s work had become easier and drivers’ awareness had improved.

However, there were still several difficulties faced while imposing penalties, as some drivers did not have ownership certificates.

Colonel Hai proposed that automobile drivers set up bank accounts with a mandatory amount.

“With the bank accounts, drivers’ awareness will be much better, as the money will directly be deducted from their account whenever they violate regulations,” Hai said.
