According to the Tay Ho District People's Committee, the street will reopen for pedestrians every weekend from May 7 between 5-11 pm on Saturdays and 8 am-11 pm on Sundays.

Many activities will be organised on the reopening day including music shows of iconic songwriter Trinh Cong Son's most famous works, stalls introducing Hanoi's food and craft products, and a 50-metre art street with 3D paintings inspired by Trinh Cong Son's songs.

Many well-known artists and singers have been invited to the reopening night. Visitors will also have a chance to meet and talk to some family members of the late composer about his life and works.

Launched in May 2018, the small street on the banks of West Lake became Hanoi’s third pedestrian street after the two walking spaces around Hoan Kiem Lake and the Old Quarter.

The beautiful 900-metre-long street is surrounded by a lotus pond, a part of the lake and lush green trees.

The pedestrian streets around Hoan Kiem Lake in Hanoi have also reopened since mid-March following a long suspension due to Covid-19.

The city has just opened the fourth pedestrian zone in Son Tay’s old citadel during Reunification Day (April 30) and May Day holidays this year with the aim to lure more visitors to the city after the Covid-19 was brought under control.
