The projects span a wide range of sectors, including housing, commerce, industry, education, tourism and services. Notably, Yen Xuan Commune accounts for five of the projects on the list.
Among the most significant developments affected are a residential project in Alley 102 Nguyen Khuyen Street in Van Mieu Ward developed by Hanoi Housing Investment and Development No. 6 JSC; a market and commercial center project in Hoa Lac Commune by Constrexim Mechanical Construction and Trading Investment JSC; and an office headquarters and labor export training center project at Plot E2 in Cau Giay New Urban Area developed by SONA International Manpower Supply and Trade JSC.
Other projects facing land recovery include the Thanh Nien Plaza high-rise development in Ngoc Ha Ward, the Thanh Lam residential area in Quang Minh Commune, an eco-tourism and garden villa project in Yen Xuan Commune, the second phase of an industrial park in Yen Xuan Commune, a mixed-use office and high-rise residential complex in O Cho Dua Ward, and a five-star hotel project in Ba Dinh Ward.
Prime-site developments affected
Several of the projects are located in strategically important urban areas and have remained dormant for years despite being allocated land.
The Hanoi People's Committee has assigned the Department of Agriculture and Environment to coordinate with the Department of Finance in completing documentation and advising the city on procedures related to land recovery and project termination in accordance with regulations.
One of the most prominent projects on the list is Thanh Nien Plaza, a high-rise development situated on what is widely regarded as a prime piece of real estate in the capital.
Part of a wider campaign
Earlier, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Xuan Luu said the city still has 341 delayed non-budget-funded projects requiring decisive action.
Of these, 308 projects have already been allocated or leased land. The group includes 34 projects that have been granted schedule extensions, 18 currently subject to inspection or investigation, and 256 projects that have received inspection conclusions but have yet to fully remedy identified violations and shortcomings.
The remaining 33 projects have not yet been allocated or leased land. Among them, 32 are under review and handling procedures, while one project is being examined by a competent authority.
According to a review completed on April 30, 326 out of 341 investors had submitted reports as requested by the Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee, while 15 investors had yet to comply.
The city aims to complete the handling of delayed projects under the approved plan before June 30.
The list of affected projects forms part of Hanoi's broader effort to improve land-use efficiency, accelerate urban development and address long-standing cases where land resources have remained underutilized due to stalled investment activity.
