Hanoi Traffic Police has just announced a traffic ban on some streets during the upcoming visit of US President Joe Biden to Vietnam.

 

According to the announcement, coaches and trucks (except for vehicles on duty) are banned between 12 pm and 9.30 pm on September 10 and between 7.30 am and 5 pm on September 11 on some streets following directions from local police.

Cars and motorbikes will be restricted on roads and streets in some districts including Tay Ho, Ba Dinh, Hoan Kiem, Dong Da, Cau Giay, Nam Tu Liem, Dong Anh, Soc Son, and Me Linh.

During that time, vehicles going to the city's eastern, southeastern, and southern cities and provinces like Bac Ninh, Bac Giang, Hai Phong, Ninh Binh, and Nam Dinh will be directed to take Thanh Tri Bridge.

Vehicles coming from the city's eastern and southeastern localities to northern localities will be directed to follow the two routes of National Road 5 - Nguyen Van Linh - Ly Son - Dong Tru Bridge - Truong Sa - Hoang Sa - Vo Van Kiet - National Road 2 and National Road 5 - Thanh Tri Bridge- Phu Dong Bridge- National Road 3.

Vehicles coming from southern localities to northern localities will follow Phap Van - Phan Trong Tue - Phung Hung - Xa La - Van Phu - Le Trong Tan - National Road 32.

Vehicles will also be restricted on some sections of the Belt Road 3 during that time.

Earlier six Boeing C-17 Globemaster III transport aircraft carrying supplies and equipment for the US President's upcoming visit to Vietnam had arrived in Hanoi on September 1 and 3.

US President Biden is scheduled to visit Vietnam on Sept. 10 and 11 upon the invitation of General Party Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

The upcoming visit will be the first by President Biden since assuming office in early 2021, and will happen as the countries celebrate 10 years of their comprehensive partnership.
