The Lunar New Year holidays (Tet) are magical in Hanoi with sidewalks, street lamps, storefronts and government offices richly adorned with festive lights, flowers and ornaments.
Trang Tien Street is festooned with strings of lights and ornamental decorations dangling between the stately trees that line the thoroughfare casting a soft TET holiday glow. The passion and love of Hanoians for TET is reflected in how people decorate the city for the holidays. Above: a peach tree ornament adorns the Temple of Literature. On Ba Trieu Street, a storefront spruces up the holidays with a decorative image of the national flag shrouded by brilliant pink and yellow flowering peach and apricot branches. Festive lights illuminate the State Bank of Vietnam main office on Le Lai Street. A peach tree arch on Dien Bien Phu Street symbolizes that good life and fortune will come to all that pass beneath. A lotus float in front of the State Bank of Vietnam beckons a message of long life, health, honour and good luck to all. Ngo Quyen Street. Trang Tien Street. |
