Heavy rains have caused serious flooding in the northern region, including the Hanoian suburban district of Quoc Oai.

Route 421B in Quoc Oai District was submerged due to rising waters on the Tich River. Traffic from Quoc Oai to Xuan Mai districts is paralysed.

At some locations, the water has risen waist-deep. Many households have to use nets to prevent fish from escaping from the cages. Others try to catch fish on the road with electricity despite the possible danger to themselves.

Warning signs have been put up and police were sent out to direct the traffic.

Heavy rains in the past days also caused some flooding in the inner city and severe congestions on many streets.
