Hanoi bans editing and storing documents involving the countries secrets on computers connected to internet

Under a document issued by the committee recently, the committee bans staff of its agencies from editing and storing documents involving the country's secrets on computers and other electronic equipment connected to internet.

Staff are also prohibited from revealing their internal issues as well as the national secret.

Hanoi plans to draft specific documents to stipulate the different levels of confidentiality for each agency and unit in the city.

The Hanoi Department of Internal Affairs is assigned to instruct the city’s other departments and agencies in the protection of national secrecy documents.

The department will also work with municipal police to arrange a taskforce for this work.

The city’s police will supervise the implementation and strictly deal with violations.
