More trees have been planted on Dien Bien Phu road.

Hanoi’s Department of Construction is focusing on reviewing, designing and improving the whole system of trees from the Opera House to streets of Trang Tien, Trang Thi, Dien Bien Phu, Doc Lap and Thanh Nien.

Hanoi’s Old Quarter and the French architectural streets will be decorated and added with flowers and trees. Trees will be grown more extensively in new urban areas.

The municipal Department of Construction recommended adding to the list of trees for the city such as Indian-almond, chebulic myrobalan, Barringtonia, date palm, among others. Their advantages are straight, flexible, uniformly branched, suitable for planting on narrow sidewalks and along streets. Besides, these trees are easy to plant and look after, especially they can survive during the rainy season.

In recent years, Hanoi has planted more trees on its streets, contributing to uplift the urban landscape, creating shade and improving the city’s air quality.
