Hanoi plans to hire a consulting firm to help guide the operation of Cat Linh-Ha Dong metro project.

According to the Hanoi People’s Committee, the move is necessary as the city still lacks experience in managing metro lines.    

The Ministry of Transport have said the hiring will come from Hanoi's budget and the city authorities have assigned Hanoi Railway Transport One Member Limited Company to manage and operate Cat Linh-Ha Dong metro project. The authorities have also proposed using part of the company’s capital to hire the consulting firm for the project operation.

The metro line has been connected to the national power grid for its trial operation this month.

All carriages and some 95% of equipment have been moved to the construction site. About 79% of the installation work has been completed so far.

The railway has a total investment of USD868 million sourced from China’s Official Development Assistance.
