Hanoi authorities have announced temporary traffic restrictions and diversions on several major roads on June 24 and 25 to support security and traffic management during the 13th National Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union for the 2026-2031 term.

The congress will take place over two days at the National Convention Center, located at No. 2 Thang Long Boulevard in Tu Liem Ward.

To ensure traffic safety and public order, Hanoi Police will implement traffic control measures during four daily time slots: 7:30am-8:30am, 10:30am-noon, 1pm-2:30pm and 4pm-6pm.

The temporary restrictions apply to trucks with a gross vehicle weight of 1.5 tonnes or more and passenger vehicles with 16 seats or more, excluding priority vehicles such as buses, waste collection vehicles and authorised security vehicles.

Roads subject to temporary restrictions include Kim Ma Street, Nguyen Chi Thanh Street, Tran Duy Hung Street, Pham Hung Street between Me Tri and Thang Long Boulevard, Do Duc Duc Street, Mieu Dam Street, the elevated Ring Road 3 section between Ho Tung Mau and Thanh Tri Bridge, and the frontage roads along Thang Long Boulevard between Pham Hung Street and the Provincial Road 70 overpass.

Hanoi Police have advised drivers to use alternative routes to avoid restricted areas.

Vehicles travelling from eastern provinces such as Hai Phong and Hung Yen towards northern and northwestern provinces including Phu Tho and Thai Nguyen are encouraged to use the Thanh Tri Bridge - Hanoi-Bac Giang Expressway - National Highway 18 corridor and vice versa.

Alternatively, motorists can travel via Thanh Tri Bridge, Do Muoi Street, Ngoc Hoi, Phan Trong Tue, Cau Buu, Phuc La, Van Khe, Le Trong Tan and National Highway 6.

Vehicles travelling from Vo Van Kiet Street and Thang Long Bridge towards Thang Long Boulevard are advised to use Pham Van Dong Street, Ho Tung Mau Street, Cau Dien, National Highway 32 and Provincial Road 70.

Authorities have urged all road users to comply with traffic regulations and follow directions from police officers and traffic management personnel.

Drivers are also reminded to promptly give way whenever priority vehicle convoys approach intersections or controlled areas.
