The list will be submitted to the city authority and relevant agencies so that the defaulters are given due punishment.

Late last year, authorities in Hanoi had ordered the city’s inspectors to inspect 80 enterprises with long overdue social insurance premiums.

Inspections were conducted in January at 40 enterprises, retrieving more than VNĐ3.7 billion (US$162,500) or 21 per cent of the total debt owed by these companies (over VNĐ17 billion or $746,620).

Of the 80 enterprises in the inspection list, 32 have paid off their debt amounting to some VNĐ11.1 billion ($487,500).

Enterprises that were previously inspected but have failed to repay their debts include Song Da 12 Joint Stock Company (owing more than VNĐ783 million or $34,390 ), An Linh Company Limited (over VNĐ 518 million or $22,750) and Nhan Viet Education Joint Stock Company (over VNĐ719 million or $31,580).

City inspectors will continue inspections at the remaining eight enterprises and others who have failed to pay the debt, according to Hanoi Social security. — VNS
