The Traffic Police Department under the Ministry of Public Security has issued a traffic restriction and diversion plan for vehicles entering Hanoi to facilitate the 80th Anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2 (A80).

On August 19, a representative from the department confirmed the schedule and affected routes to ensure smooth organization of the commemorative events.

Traffic will be restricted on certain highways and national roads during the following time slots:

From 3:00 PM on August 21 to 5:00 AM on August 22
From 3:00 PM on August 24 to 5:00 AM on August 25
From 3:00 PM on August 27 to 5:00 AM on August 28
From 4:00 PM on August 29 to 5:00 PM on August 30
From 4:00 PM on September 1 to 5:00 PM on September 2

The restrictions apply to the following types of vehicles: trucks with a load capacity of 10 tons or more, and passenger buses with 45 seats or more. Exemptions include fixed-route passenger vehicles, public buses, garbage collection vehicles, emergency and maintenance vehicles, vehicles bearing A80 insignias, and other priority vehicles on duty.

Traffic restrictions will affect the following roads and highways:

Expressways:

Hanoi - Ninh Binh Expressway: From Thuong Tin interchange (Km 192+300, Hong Van Commune, Hanoi)
Hanoi - Hai Phong Expressway: From Yen My interchange (Km 21+500)
Hanoi - Thai Nguyen Expressway: From Van Xuan interchange (intersection with National Highway 3 at Km 40+700) to the intersection with National Highway 18 (Yen Phong Commune, Bac Ninh Province)
Hanoi - Lao Cai Expressway: From Binh Xuyen IC3 interchange (CT05 and Provincial Road 310B, Binh Xuyen Commune, Phu Tho Province)

National Highways:

National Highway 1A: From the Phan Trong Tue (Provincial Road 70A) - Ngoc Hoi junction; Hanoi - Bac Giang segment from the intersection with Hanoi - Thai Nguyen Expressway (Km 152+600)
National Highway 2: From the intersection with Vo Van Kiet Road
National Highway 3: From the Cavalry Police Regiment (Ba Xuyen Ward, Thai Nguyen Province) → August Revolution Road junction → Nam Tien intersection (Km 46+650 to Km 41+900) → Tran Nguyen Han Road (Van Xuan Ward, Thai Nguyen Province) to Van Xuan interchange
National Highway 5: From the Cau Chui junction (Nguyen Van Linh - Nguyen Van Cu)
National Highway 6: From the Hoa Lac - Hoa Binh interchange (Km 65+100)
National Highway 21A: From the intersection with National Highway 32 to Cho Ben junction (intersection with Ho Chi Minh Road)
National Highway 18: From the intersection with Hanoi - Thai Nguyen Expressway (Yen Phong Commune, Bac Ninh Province)

The Hanoi Police Department also announced additional road closures and traffic control measures for downtown areas during the same period to ensure the smooth execution of National Day activities.
