More than 100 Hanoi traffic police officers have been sent to Danang City for the APEC Summit scheduled to take place in the city on November 6-11.

Colonel Dao Vinh Thang, head of the Hanoi Traffic Police Board, said that they were the most experienced traffic police from the city.

He added that around 20 specialist motorbikes and 12 cars from the Hanoi Traffic Police Board have also been arranged to serve the event.

Hanoi will be responsible for escorting seven delegations; therefore, ensuring traffic safety and security is crucial.

The APEC event is expected to welcome leaders of 21 APEC economies and around 10,000 Vietnamese and international delegates, including managers from major companies and groups.

APEC 2017, hosted by Vietnam, includes 200 activities held across 10 provinces and cities, with the most important event being the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week in Da Nang city.

The Ministry of Public Security has planned to mobilise hundreds of vehicles and thousands of police from 10 provinces and cities during the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week in Danang.
