Locals in Hanoi are under the grip of a particularly cold spell, upsetting their daily habits, as primary students are allowed to stay home, and many workers must seek ways to stay warm.
 The temperature in Hanoi has dropped below 10 degrees Celsius in recent days.  Many people on the streets can feel the cold in their bones. A man burns wood by day for some respite from the weather. A lot of kindergartens and primary schools around Hanoi have decided to allow students stay at home because of the very cold weather. On many streets, people are lighting small fires to keep warm. Some even wear rain capes for extra insulation. A motorbike driver awaits his fare in the cold weather.  Children and the elderly cover their mouths and noses with masks to prevent the spread of illness. The cold spell is forecast to last for another few days and drizzle and rain will develop to add to the miserable weather. |
