VietNamNet Bridge - Elevators are broken very often, even do not work for a week; corridors are dirty and smelly; water spills everywhere; garbage is rampant… That is the situation in the B6A Nam Trung Yen building in Hanoi’s largest resettlement area – Nam Trung Yen.

The Nam Trung Yen resettlement area is located in the districts of Cau Giay, Thanh Xuan and Tu Liem, with an area 56.4 ha, inaugurated in 2009.

However, since it was put into operation from 2009, the quality of apartment blocks in this area has been completed for quick degradation. From March 29, a few dozens of households on 17 floors of the B6A building have not had evacuator service, making their life difficult.

Mrs. Tran Thi Thu on the 12th floor said: "I’m young but whenever I’m back home from the market or the office, I’m very tired of climbing up stairs, let alone the elderly and children." The building management board says that the elevators in this building do work because of power cut. The reason is that the constructor of this building is the partner in the power purchasing contract but it has not paid power charges. The building management board has repeatedly proposed to takeover of the power contract but the constructor has ignored the proposal.
