In 1994, a young man named Hiroshi Fukada wandered around Hanoi’s Old Quarter with a camera in hand, taking over a hundred photos of Hanoians living everyday life.

Mr. Fukada is now the Japanese ambassador to Vietnam and still holds the photos he snapped of Hanoians dear to his heart for more than 20 years.
