On January 9, Luong Minh Phuc, Director of the HCMC Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board, announced the progress of the 10 projects, all scheduled for completion and operational status by the Lunar New Year 2025.

The inauguration of two projects will kick off with ceremonies: the upgraded and renovated Hang Bang Canal (District 5) will open at 8 a.m. on January 17, followed by the newly constructed Tan Ky - Tan Quy Bridge (Binh Tan District) on January 20 at 8 a.m.

Five additional projects will commence operations simultaneously without formal ceremonies. These include the expansion of Hoang Hoa Tham Street (Tan Binh District), stretching approximately 800 meters from the military barracks near the airport to Cong Hoa Street. The road’s width will increase from 8–10 meters to 22 meters.

The road connecting Tran Quoc Hoan and Cong Hoa will partially open, with the section from the Phan Thuc Duyen underpass to Hoang Hoa Tham now accessible. Three connections from this road to Tan Son Nhat Airport’s Terminal 3, including elevated and ground-level access points, have been completed.

The remaining section of this route, from Hoang Hoa Tham to its endpoint, is expected to receive cleared land by February 20, with full completion and operational readiness slated for April 30 to coincide with the Terminal 3 launch.

The upgraded Luong Dinh Cua Street will also open a section between Nguyen Hoang and Tran Nao intersections, although construction in some areas near the intersections will continue due to land clearance delays.

The expansion of Duong Quang Ham Street will complete its first phase, allowing partial traffic flow. The full-width road is expected to open after underground electrical work is finished and power poles are removed by April 30.

Tan Long Bridge will open one traffic lane, while Ba Hom Bridge will be fully operational on January 26.

At the An Phu Intersection project (Thu Duc City), components like Ba Dat Bridge and Giong Ong To 2 Bridge have been finished but will remain unused until the entire intersection project opens by the end of 2025.

The Nguyen Van Linh - Nguyen Huu Tho Intersection (District 7) project will complete surface works on the HC1 and HC2 tunnels, allowing two underground roads and the main intersection to begin serving the public on January 20.

In 2024, the Traffic Management Board successfully completed 10 projects, including the construction of Ten Lua Road, Nam Ly Bridge, the two HC1 and HC2 tunnels at the Nguyen Van Linh - Nguyen Huu Tho intersection, Ong Bon Bridge, Rach Dia Bridge, Phuoc Long Bridge, the first phase of the parallel road to National Highway 50, and Tan Ky - Tan Quy Road. Additionally, the second phase of the Binh Hung wastewater treatment plant was completed.
