HCM City puts forth solutions to traffic jam in 2019
Officials to be disciplined if sidewalks are encroached upon again

Apart from business encroachment, the city authority will also handle drivers who ride motorbikes on sidewalks and cause damage and unsafe conditions for pedestrians.

The city department has asked districts to develop plans to upgrade narrow sidewalks and to build new sidewalks on roads without pavements.

The department has also asked related units to step up patrols and inspections, and strictly handle businesses and households that encroach on sidewalks and roadsides.
