At the meeting, Mr. Thang appreciated contributions by the Fulbright program in improving the human resource quality of Vietnam in general and HCMC in particular.

Fulbright Vietnam University is an important project facilitating HCMC to improve education and training quality, brand name and competitiveness, he added.

Leaders of the Party, State and HCMC pay much heed to the project and will create every advantageous condition for the university’s establishment, which is expected to fall on the occasion of U.S. President Barack Obama’s visit to Vietnam, Mr. Thang affirmed.

Mr. Vallely thanked the secretary for his consideration for the project adding that Fulbright and Harvard Universities had conducted many studies on Vietnam’s development. However these works’ influence on building of the country’s development policies had been limited.

Hence, he hoped that qualified studies along with Fulbright Vietnam University in the future will positively impact the development of Vietnam and HCMC also.
