On June 16, authorities highlighted the appearance of "Socola Bay," a synthetic marijuana variant, actively promoted within Facebook and TikTok groups boasting thousands of members each.

Moreover, the police cautioned the public about the alarming trend of substances infused into food and electronic cigarettes, designed to attract students and young adults with their enticing packaging and flavors.

These products are traded discreetly within closed social media circles, often involving intermediary transport services to evade detection and prosecution.

Authorities emphasized that "Socola Bay" and similar substances can induce severe side effects including hallucinations, convulsions, coma, and potentially fatal outcomes.

In response, the public is urged to stay informed and vigilant, actively monitoring updates on the dangers posed by such drugs and the deceptive tactics employed by traffickers.

Families and educational institutions are encouraged to educate children against storing or using substances of unknown origin, including electronic cigarettes and purported functional foods with stimulant properties. Immediate action should be taken if signs of drug use are observed among young individuals.

Residents are advised to promptly report any suspicious activities to local authorities and law enforcement agencies.

Businesses are reminded of their legal obligation to abstain from participating in the sale, storage, or transportation of products suspected to contain illicit substances.
