V.League 1 side HCM City have signed a six-month contract with AFC Cup 2009 top goal-scorer Huynh Kesley Alves to prepare for the event’s second leg.

The Brazilian-born Vietnamese striker Alves has played for Thai Division 2 Regional League side Kasetsart FC for the last two two years.

Alves is one of the best strikers in the national premier league’s history with the experience with five clubs and three league titles in 10 years since 2005. Alves obtained Vietnamese citizenship and played for the national once in 2009.

Alves, 36, is expected to boost HCM City’s attack, something desperately needed for a club in 11th position. — VNS
