At a reception for visiting Singaporean Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrisrhnan on October 27, Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong highlighted the thriving strategic relationship between Vietnam and Singapore as both are members of the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) and the ASEAN Community.

He expressed his hope that the cooperation between the two nations in general and between Singapore and the city in particular will continue developing in the future, particularly in the economic, trade and investment pillars.

HCM City hopes to receive more support from Singapore in improving staff quality in urban management, biotechnology and electronic technology, Phong added.

For his part, the Singaporean minister expressed his admiration at the strong and dynamic development of HCM City, suggesting the two sides further promote the bilateral business connection.

Singaporean enterprises want to engage in large-scale and hi-tech projects in the city, he said.

Singapore is willing to share its experience in urban management and continue its support for the city in human resources training, he added.-VNA
