VietNamNet Bridge – Mr. Tran Van Dung, former chair of the Hanoi Stock Exchange, has been appointed the chair of the HCM City Stock Exchange, replacing Mr. Tran Dac Sinh who has retired.

The decision was made public by the Ministry of Finance and the State Securities Commission on October 31 and it took effect on November 1.

At the same time, Mr. Le Hai Tra – a member of the Board of Directors and Deputy General Director of HOSE – was assigned to undertake the Executive Board.

Dung was chairman and CEO of the Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX) in the 2012-2015 tenure. In late February 2016, Dung was appointed as vice chair and general director of HOSE, replacing Ms. Phan Thi Tuong Tam who retired.

In 2015, the Ministry of Finance submitted to the Prime Minister the plan to merge the Hanoi and HCM City stock exchanges into the Vietnam Stock Exchange, which is a State-owned agency.
