The International Tennis Federation on June 23 unveiled that Ho Chi Minh City has been selected to host its 2017 Conference and Annual General Meeting (AGM) from August 1-4, inclusive.
The decision was made on the concluding day of this year's Conference and AGM in Zagreb, Croatia.
“I’m really looking forward to next year’s AGM," said ITF President David Haggerty in making the announcement.
He said though he has never personally been to Vietnam he thinks it will be fantastic to take tennis to a nation that has never hosted an AGM before.
Ho Chi Minh City was selected following a presentation by Vietnam Tennis Federation commercial director Longy Le Hoang and general secretary Nguyen Quoc Ky.
“It’s an honour for us to host the tennis family in Vietnam in 2017," said Ky.
He said the City is proud to welcome the ITF National Associations and Regional Associations to experience our down home hospitality in southern Vietnam.
