The HCM City Department of Transport has recently announced that the city will pilot the addition of English-language signage from early May, in order to support foreign visitors to travel in and discover the city.

The Saigon River Tunnel Management Center has been assigned the task of implementing the pilot.

Initially, three streets in District 1 will have signposts in English: Vo Van Kiet, Ky Con, and Nguyen Thai Hoc.

The city will then continue to install signs in English at the gateway to Tan Son Nhat International Airport and some national highways.

The department will also look into which other areas visitors may need such signs.

It previously added English-language instructions in works at Tan Son Nhat International Airport and the city’s urban railway project.
