The plan comprising underground parking lots aims at serving the city’s breakthrough program on urban planning in association with waterway transport and tourism development.

Chairman Nguyen Thanh Phong also tasked the department to review and estimate implementation of the HCMC development plan by 2025 and report to the city People’s Committee by April at the latest.

Basing on that, HCMC will propose the Prime Minister for approval on the city's plan by 2030 with visions till 2050.

Mr. Phong prompted the department to work with the Department of Construction and the HCMC Institute for Development Studies to speed up the progress of reviewing and estimating the situation of villas built before 1975.

Afterwards, the department should set up a list of works in need of preservation and villas unpermitted to dismantle. HCMC now has about 1,300 villas.

The agency must report to the city People’s Committee their performance and results before April and organize an international examination for a 1/5000 scale plan of Can Gio district.

The plan must ensure the preservation of mangrove forest system.
