VietNamNet Bridge – At the upcoming meeting of the HCM City People's Council on July 10-12, the vote of confidence will be held for 16 officials who are elected by the People’s Council, with the three levels of confidence: high trust, low trust and trust.

"The city currently has 19 officials who are elected by the People’s Council but only 16 are eligible for the vote of confidence, including the Chair, Vice Chair, standing members of the People’s Council, the heads of divisions of the People’s Council, the Chair and Vice Chairs and commissioner of the People’s Committee," said Chairwoman of the HCM City People’s Council Nguyen Thi Quyet Tam.

Tam added that the city’s vote of confidence will be organized in the same way with that of the National Assembly, with three levels: high trust, low trust and trust. The vote of confidence will be held openly and objectively.

In Hanoi, the 7th session of the People’s Council will take place from July 1-8 and it will be the longest meeting so far.

The city will organize the vote of confidence for 18 positions elected by the People’s Council.

On January 8, the 11th meeting of the Hanoi Party Standing Committee conducted the vote of confidence for members of the Hanoi Party Standing Committee and vice presidents of the Hanoi People’s Council and the Hanoi People's Committee.

No official got 100 percent of the vote but nobody was rated as weak.

Hanoi Party Secretary Pham Quang Nghi said Hanoi would hold the vote of confidence annually. He confirmed that officials with low confidence rate will be replaced.
