Hosts HCM City finished on top of the National Junior Chinese Chess Championship which closed yesterday.

The city’s athletes pocketed 27 gold, 25 silver and 22 bronze medals.

Hanoi came second with13 golds, followed by Bac Kan with two golds.

The tournament lured more than 100 masters from nine cities and provinces. They competed in eight age groups for boys and girls.
