Nguyen Huynh Minh Huy and Nguyen Thi Thanh An beat the Kiên Giang team in the mixed doubles category to win one gold in the event, held in the northern province of Bac Giang.

Meanwhile, in men’s standard chess, the total score of Pham Chuong, Nguyen Anh Khoi, Nguyen Quoc Hy and Le Nguyen Khoi Nguyen earned another gold for HCM City, and helped elevate the team to 28th in the team rankings, while the Army team stood at 29th.

Hosts Bac Giang, whose team included Doan Thi Van Anh, Vo Thi Kim Phung, Hoang Thi Hai Anh and Nguyen Thi Thao Linh, took the gold medal in women’s doubles. The HCM City team finished 33rd out of 34.

The tournament continues with the men’s singles, women’s singles, and mixed doubles, with competitions in standard chess, rapid chess, and blitz chess.
