The exhibition at Nguyen Hue Pedestrian Street in District 1 displays more than 100 black-and-white and colour photos and documents.

Half of the display reflects soldiers’ and people’s activities to implement President ho Chi Minh’s call for patriotic emulation which encouraged everyone to contribute to the resistance war to liberate the country.

The activities include the national large-scale movements during the American war, including Ba san sang (Youth are Ready for Three Tasks), Ba dam dang (Women with Three Responsibilities), and Nam Xung Phong (Youth Volunteers in Five Tasks), among others. 

Half of the exhibits introduce HCM City’s achievements in economy, society and culture, and international integration, after 70 years of implementing President Hồ Chí Minh’s appeal for patriotic emulation.

Nguyen hong Hanh, a resident in District 1, said: "Through the exhibition, I learned more about President Ho Chi Minh and his appeal for patriotic emulation which has helped our country achieve victory and independence.”

“I believe the exhibition will motivate young generations in study and protect the country in peace time,” said Hanh.

Along with the exhibition will be a music and dance performance which will be organised on Nguyen Hue Pedestrian Street tonight.

The show will include songs in praise of President Ho Chi Minh, the country and HCM City.

It will feature famous singers like Thanh Thuy and Vo Ha Tram, along with singers from the Youth Culture House and the Conservatory of Music.

Another exhibition along Dong Khoi Street in District 1 showcases 50 photos that depict the city’s achievements in infrastructure building, including urban areas, flyover bridges and the ongoing metro system project.

The two exhibitions will run until June 20.
