Tran Luu Quang, secretary of the Party Committee of the southern province of Tay Ninh, has been picked as the permanent deputy secretary of the HCMC Party Committee for the 2015-2020 tenure, the local media reported.

Quang replaces his predecessor Tat Thanh Cang, who had been dismissed from the post due to his serious mismanagement.
Pham Minh Chinh, head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Organization, today, February 27, announced this appointment decision issued by the Politburo.
Chinh said the Politburo has high confidence that Quang will fulfill his new duties, making significant contributions to the city’s development.
At a ceremony to announce the appointment decision, Nguyen Thien Nhan, secretary of the HCMC Party Committee, said the municipal Party Committee will support Quang so that he can well perform his duties, contributing to the city’s accomplishment of tasks assigned by the Party and the State.
Quang expressed his gratitude to the Politburo for appointing him as the permanent deputy secretary of the HCMC Party Committee and promised to try his best to complete assigned tasks.
Born in 1967, Quang is a native of Tay Ninh Province. He held the post of chairman of Tay Ninh Province’s Trang Bang District between 2008 and 2010. In the 2010-211 period, he served as secretary of the Trang Bang Party Committee.
He was later appointed as vice chairman of the Tay Ninh People’s Committee from June 2011 before being appointed as secretary of the Tay Ninh Party Committee in July 2015.
On January 14, HCMC deputy Party chief Nguyen Thi Quyet Tam retired. Thus, the HCMC Party Committee currently has three deputy secretaries: Tran Luu Quang, Nguyen Thanh Phong and Vo Thi Dung.
