Despite the hot and sunny weather of April, people walking on several roads in HCMC are still dazzled by shimmering yellow flowers of golden shower trees.

Golden shower trees are in their full glory between March and April. The vivid golden color adds joy to the summer in the city as it evokes a sense of happiness and pleasure.

Golden shower flowers, also known as Osaka flowers and several other names, are arranged in bunches measuring between 20 and 40 centimeters. Each flower has five oval petals with distinctly long filaments.

The golden shower tree is native to the Indian subcontinent and adjacent regions of Southeast Asia. Growing up to 10-15 meters tall in dry climates and on well-drained soil, it is widely grown in Vietnam mainly as an ornamental plant.
