VietNamNet Bridge – Dozens of big trees along HCM City street fell yesterday afternoon after unexpected rainstorms which injured at least three people. Traffic congestion occurred on some roads.

At around 2pm on June 27, after the rainstorms, a khaya wood tree with a trunk diameter of about 40 cm fell on Truong Chinh Road, Tan Phu District.

The fallen tree hit a 40-year-old man who was driving a motorcycle on the road. The victim had a a broken leg and other wounds on his body. He was taken to a nearby hospital.

Tens of police officers and local militia were sent to the site to clean the road.

Big trees also fell on other roads in the city during the rainstorm, injuring two others.
